Google Business Profile Management
for Minnesota Businesses
Most local businesses claim their GBP and forget it. We optimize every field, build your review velocity, and post weekly so you show up when customers in your city search for what you do.
Why most GBPs do not rank
A claimed profile is not an optimized profile. Google uses dozens of signals to decide which businesses show up in the map pack. Most local businesses get 3 of them right and leave the rest blank.
Wrong primary category
The primary GBP category is the single most powerful ranking signal. Choosing "Home Services" instead of "HVAC Contractor" is the difference between showing up and being invisible.
Empty or generic description
Google gives you 750 characters to describe your business with real keywords. Most profiles use 80 characters of filler that say nothing about what you do or where you do it.
Stale reviews
A business with 80 reviews from two years ago loses to one with 30 fresh reviews from last month. Google weights recency. If your last review is from 2022, it is hurting you.
No photos or wrong photos
Google favors profiles with 10 or more photos. Stock images do not count. A profile with zero real photos of your actual work signals a business that is not engaged.
No activity
GBP posts drive 70% more engagement. Businesses that post weekly signal to Google they are active and relevant. A profile with no posts in 6 months looks abandoned.
NAP inconsistency
Your name, address, and phone number must match exactly across your website, GBP, Yelp, and every directory. One variation ("St." vs. "Street") splits your authority.
What a full GBP optimization covers
We do not hand you a checklist and wish you luck. We handle every field, every month. Here is exactly what we set up and maintain.
Primary category selection
We research the most specific, highest-ranking category for your exact business type. This single field has more impact on your map pack position than anything else on this list. We get it right the first time and monitor it as Google adds new categories.
Business description (750 characters, fully used)
We write a keyword-rich description that names your city, your services, and why local customers choose you. No filler. No corporate language. The full 750 characters, used strategically.
Services list with descriptions and prices
Every service you offer gets its own entry with a name, description, and price where applicable. This is how you show up when someone searches a specific service instead of just your business name.
Q&A pre-population (5 questions)
We write and answer 5 questions your customers actually ask before Google lets strangers answer them for you. This controls the narrative on your profile and adds keyword density.
Photo strategy and file naming
We build a photo checklist for your specific business type (exterior, interior, work samples, team, equipment) with keyword-optimized file names. Minimum 10 photos at launch.
Review generation system (Momentum and Dominate)
We set up an automated text-based review request system so every customer gets a follow-up after their appointment or job. Businesses that respond to all reviews get 12% more reviews on average. We respond to every one.
GBP posts 2x per week (Momentum and Dominate)
We write and publish two posts per week: one service or promotion, one local or seasonal. Businesses posting weekly get 70% more engagement. We handle it so you do not have to think about it.
NAP audit and consistency fix
We audit your name, address, and phone number across your website, GBP, Yelp, BBB, and Bing Places. Any mismatch gets flagged and corrected. Split authority is the silent killer of local rankings.
Why this matters for AI search: ChatGPT, Perplexity, and Google's AI overview all pull from the same data that powers traditional search. A fully optimized GBP with strong reviews and consistent NAP signals is how you show up in both. Good GBP work is not separate from AI visibility. It is the foundation.

Questions about GBP optimization
Do I need to already have a Google Business Profile?
No. If you do not have one, we claim or create it as part of onboarding. If you already have one, we audit what exists and optimize from there. Either way, the full setup is included in your first month.
My GBP has wrong information on it. Can you fix it?
Yes. Wrong addresses, duplicate listings, old phone numbers, and suspended profiles are some of the most common problems we fix. We have dealt with all of them. If your GBP has been suppressed or suspended, that is the first thing we address.
How long before I see results in Google Maps?
Most clients see movement in their map pack position within 60 to 90 days. It depends on how competitive your city and niche are. We are honest about timelines: we can tell you what your top 3 competitors have that you do not, and how long it realistically takes to close that gap.
Can I do this myself?
You can. Google publishes their GBP guidelines publicly and the basics are not hard to understand. The issue is that the difference between a decent GBP and a fully optimized one is about 40 hours of setup and ongoing attention every month. If you have that time, do it. If you do not, that is why we exist. You can also check your current GBP score for free to see exactly where the gaps are before deciding.
Do you work with businesses in any industry?
We work with independently-owned local businesses across Minnesota in any niche: HVAC, plumbing, electricians, auto repair, landscaping, restaurants, dental, pet services, law firms, and more. The only businesses we do not work with are franchises, because their marketing is controlled at the corporate level and local optimization has limited impact.
What are the contract terms?
A 3-month minimum, then month to month. After that, you can cancel any time with 30 days notice, no penalties. We do not lock you into a 6 to 12 month contract like the $1,500 to $5,000/month agencies do.
